Richmond forward Jack Higgins has been traded to the Saints, with a number of picks changing hands.

Higgins will move to Moorabbin along with pick 21 and a future fourth-round selection, while the Tigers will gain pick 17 and a future second round pick.

Higgins will become the Saints' third acquisition this exchange period, with the club already adding Brad Crouch and Shaun McKernan.

“It’s terrific for us to acquire Jack’s services and add another dynamic mid/forward to our list,” Saints list manager James Gallagher said.

“He’s a player with incredible enthusiasm and we’re really excited to see what he can bring in his new colours along with Brad Crouch and Shaun McKernan.

“As Jack was under contract at Richmond before requesting a trade, it was incumbent on us to facilitate a trade that suited both parties.”

Higgins stated his excitement to join the club.

“It’s amazing to join the Saints next year and I really can’t wait to get started,” Higgins said.

“I grew up barracking for the Saints, so it really is a dream come true to represent the club.

“I’m really keen to meet my new teammates and be part of the Saints moving forward, because they’re definitely heading somewhere pretty special.”
