Ben Brown is officially a Demon after being traded from North Melbourne.

As first reported by SEN's Sam Edmund, Brown has been sent to Melbourne along with Pick 28 and a future fourth rounder in exchange for the Demons' Picks 26 and 33.

It is believed that the two picks North receive in the deal will be used as part of a trade to acquire Collingwood's Jaidyn Stephenson.

Brown has agreed to a four-year deal with Melbourne which will tie him to the club until the end of 2024.

โ€œWe are excited to have Ben join us,โ€ Dems GM of Football Josh Mahoney told the club website.

โ€œHe is a proven goal kicker and we think he is the perfect type of player to work alongside our other forwards with his height, football smarts and experience.

โ€œWe were impressed during this process by Benโ€™s determination to succeed and also his excitement about joining Melbourne and being part of our club.โ€

The AFL trade period ends at 7.30pm tonight AEST.
