Dockers forward Jesse Hogan will be a Giant in 2021, according to former AFL recruiter Matt Rendell.

Speaking on AFL Trade Radio, Rendell said his "strong mail" is that Hogan will make the move to GWS during the upcoming trade period.

"I believe it's a fait accompli. That's my strong mail," Rendell said.

“It makes a lot of sense if they can get him right, he’s only 25 and has a lot of footy ahead of him – if he gets his head right he’ll be a good replacement for Jeremy Cameron.

“The other thing is they may even play him in defence, as a 16-year-old he looked a fantastic defender.

“Good luck to him, my strong mail is he’ll be at GWS in 2021 and they’ve got plenty of picks to make a deal happen.”

Hogan is contracted until the end of next season, meaning he will needed to be traded to be acquired.

The 25-year old's future at Fremantle has grown clouded following a quarantine breach that cost him $8000 to cap off what has been an eventful run since he was traded from Melbourne at the end of 2018.

Hogan has booted just 18 goals in 19 games since joining the Dockers, with injuries and mental health issues hampering his time at the club.

He played just seven senior appearances this year, booting five goals and spending time in defence.

The Giants are set to lose Jeremy Cameron to Geelong in free agency and are now on the hunt for a key forward to fill the void - with Hogan seemingly fitting the bill.

The AFL trade period runs from November 4-12.
