Gold Coast defender Wil Powell is understood to have plenty of interest from rival clubs this off-season after a promising 2020 campaign.

Powell is reportedly being chased by North Melbourne and a number of other clubs that have plenty of wiggle room with vacant list spots and cap space.

The young half-back was taken with pick 19 in the 2017 draft and could now find himself at a rival club come the conclusion of the upcoming trade window.

โ€œHeโ€˜s (Powell) a person of interest in the recruiting ranks,โ€ afl.com.au reporter Damian Barrett said onย Footy Feed.ย

โ€œSeveral clubs have made an approach to him, including North Melbourne, who do need to replace a lot of players on their list. Heโ€˜s a person of interest.โ€

Powell has played 35 games for the Suns and remains contracted with the club until the end of next year.
