Richmond forward Jack Higgins has requested a trade to St Kilda, as first reported by The Age.
It emerged last month that both the player and club were willing to explore a trade for the 21-year old, with St Kilda named as the frontrunner for his services.
And now Higgins' bid to move to Moorabbin is official - with his manager Paul Connors confirming as much on AFL Trade Radio.
"Over the weekend, Jack (Higgins) got in touch with the coach and Blair Hartley and asked if he could seek a trade," Connors said.
"He has a year left on his contract, but he just wants to play footy and he'd love the opportunity at the Saints."
The Herald Sun'sย Jon Ralph reports that Richmond have knocked back the Saints' initial offer of a future second-round pick.

The former pick 17 has played 43 games for Richmond over three seasons after getting picked up in the 2017 AFL Draft.
Higgins is contracted until the end of next season and would get a new, longer-term deal with the Saints.
The AFL trade period ends on Thursday night at 7.30pm AEST.
