It is looming possible that out-of-favour Collingwood star Adam Treloar could yet remain at the club.
According to SEN's Sam Edmund, the gun ball winner is yet to speak to any rival teams ahead of Thursday night's 7.30pm trade deadline (AEST).
The Western Bulldogs, St Kilda and Hawthorn have been considered the three most likely destinations, but reportedly haven't had time to organise a deal with such big financial implications.
The Bulldogs have some interest in the 27-year old but have not been able to secure a meeting with him.
Furthermore, the Dog are not believed to be keen on a three-way trade that would send Josh Dunkley to Essendon to land Treloar.
Treloar is contracted at the Magpies until 2025 on a heavily back-ended deal that raises to as much as $900,000 in the final years.
Collingwood has been actively looking to offload his salary as they try to manage their tight cap - with Jordan De Goey still unsigned for 2021.
The Pies' attempts to move Treloar have upset him, who has stood firm in his desire to stay at the club.
Collingwood have even offered to pay part of his salary at a rival team, but currently has no firm suitors just two days out from the deadline.
Therefore, it is possible the midfielder stays at the Pies in 2021, which would provide more time for him to assess his options and give rival clubs time to plan for his acquisition.
