The AFL Coaches Association's AFL Champion Player Award is voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game. It acknowledges outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
A player can receive a maximum of 10 votes.
The player with the most votes at the end of the home and away season will be crowned the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year.
Previous winners include Nick Daicos (Collingwood), Zak Butters (Port Adelaide), TouK Miller (Gold Coast), Clayton Oliver (Melbourne) and Lachie Neale (Brisbane).
The award was first handed out in 2003 when Collingwood champion Nathan Buckley was the recipient.
