Richmond AFLW star Monique Conti has penned a new extension, signing on with the club until the end of 2027.

It comes as club president John O'Rourke announced that Conti will become the inaugural female footballer to be awarded life membership at the Tigers.

The 24-year-old is already among the most impressive footballers in the competition, reaching significant heights across her seven-year career.

Conti was taken with Pick 4 in the 2017 National Draft by the Western Bulldogs but made the switch to Punt Road ahead of the 2020 season.

Since joining Richmond, the midfielder has added four All-Australian blazers, five best and fairest, the 2023 AFLW best and fairest and AFLPA AFLW MVP in Season 7.

But Conti said she's not done yet.

โ€œThe goal is a premiership,โ€ Conti said.

โ€œI think that's next for us, and I really want to be a part of that and a part of the core group that drives that.

โ€œI love the Club; ever since I stepped foot, it's been welcoming and a family vibe. I feel really connected with my teammates, coaching staff, and everything like that.

โ€œI come in every day and feel connected and valued and cared about... It's really rare to find that, but I have here, and I'd like to call Richmond my home.โ€

Richmond Head of Women's Football, Kate Sheahan, said Conti's long-term commitment to the Club was exciting for everyone at Richmond.

โ€œMonique has bought into our football program since the day she arrived back in 2019 and comes to the Club every day hungry to improve,โ€ she added.

"This is a greatly important signing for us, and Mon's commitment shows enormous faith and how much she believes in this Club and loves her teammates.

โ€œAmazingly, Mon's best football is still in front of her, and we cannot wait to see what she can help us achieve in the next four seasons and beyond as a Richmond player.โ€

Conti's Tigers went down by one point to West Coast in Week 1 of the 2024 season despite her impressive efforts.

Conti was the highest-rated player on the ground, gathering 31 disposals, six tackles, five clearances and a goal assist in the defeat.

Richmond now turns their attention to hosting the Giants at the Swinburne Centre on Saturday.
