The week one fixture for the 2024 AFLW finals series is locked in following the cessation of the home and away season, which saw North Melbourne claim the minor premiership with an undefeated 11-game campaign.

The Roos amassed 10 wins and a draw to finish two points ahead of Hawthorn, who claimed the McClelland Trophy on Sunday thanks to their victory over Richmond.

North Melbourne will carry a 5-0 record against their fellow finals clubs from this season into this year's series, with their November run to commence with a qualifying final against Adelaide at IKON Park on Friday to open the finals.

Adelaide finished fourth to book their second chance spot, with Hawthorn (2nd) and Brisbane (3rd) to battle it out in the other qualifying final at the same venue on Sunday.

The two elimination finals will be held in Western Australia and South Australia as Fremantle and Port Adelaide booked home finals, with the latter breaking through for their first AFLW finals campaign in their history.

The Power will host Richmond at Alberton Oval on Sunday to finish the weekend, while the Dockers and Essendon meet at Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

The winner of that game will face the loser of North Melbourne and Adelaide in week two of the finals, while the winning side from Port Adelaide vs Richmond will face the losing side from Hawthorn vs Brisbane.

"The 2024 NAB AFLW Season has raised the bar with exceptional skills and memorable moments, enjoyed by more fans than ever across the country," AFL broadcasting operations boss Josh Bowler said.

"Congratulations to Hawthorn and Port Adelaide on reaching their first NAB AFLW Finals Series, and to North Melbourne for securing the minor premiership with an undefeated home and away season.

"To every fan, partner, club, player, and official – thank you for your dedication and support. Now, eight teams will battle it out for the ultimate prize. We're set for an unforgettable finals series."
