Fremantle star Caleb Serong and West Coast forward Liam Ryan have unveiled the specifically designed guernseys set for the exhibition match between the Dockers and the Indigenous All Stars on February 15 at Optus Stadium.

The playing gear was formulated by former Fremantle player Roger Hayden and First Nations muralist Jade Dolman, who also designed the artwork displayed on the Sherrin for the match.

"Designing the artwork for the Indigenous All Stars 2025 is a significant milestone in my career as an artist and as a proud First Nations person. This match is a celebration of cultural identity, dedication, talent, and community โ€” values that I've aimed to reflect in my designs, with a particular focus on legacy and excellence," Dolman said.

"I felt the cultural weight of this match, and I am incredibly proud of the final artworks that have come to life as a result."

Dolman's design focuses on telling the story of the legacy created by the Indigenous All-Star players who will wear the guernsey, with the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags represented.

The legacy artwork on the guernsey rises from behind the river, and centres around children, with AFL players surrounding them. The design also showcases root symbols representing the pathways for growth and opportunity.

Dolman's design includes symbols representing the important role females play, as well as river and freshwater symbols, and the Beeliar/umbilical cord to further represent the importance of water and protecting our future and new life.

The match-day Sherrin features the Noongar word โ€˜Miidj', meaning ball and features the river symbol.

The other panels on the ball represent the boodjar (land) and kep (water) โ€“ the boodjar panel features native animal tracks and bush foods as circles and the kep panel features symbols ofย river, special places and rain.

Fremantle will wear their inaugural Indigenous jumper which was designed by former player Roger Hayden and Dr. Richard Walley over a decade ago.

Hayden, who played 128 games for Fremantle and is now the club's male Next Generation Academy (NGA) and Game Development Coach, was proud that the jumper was being revived.

"To see Fremantle wearing the jumper again, knowing the history and connection with Indigenous players that we've had as a club and to be playing against an Indigenous All-Stars team highlighting and celebrating First Nations peoples, history and culture throughout the AFL, it's going to be great to see and an honour to be a part of," he said.
