Brendon Ah Chee is set to return to the South Fremantle Football Club next season.
The South Fremantle Bulldogs broke the news on Monday night, revealing that the 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal with his childhood club.
Ah Chee becomes just the second axed eagle to return to the WAFL next season, following Ben Johnson who will play for West Perth in 2022.
The forward/mid revealed to Twitter that he is "pumped to be back" at his childhood club and that he "can't wait to get into it".
The move also comes at a perfect time for the South Fremantle Bulldogs, who are looking to bounce back after this year's Grand Final loss to Subiaco.
After being picked up from the Bulldogs in the 2011 draft by Port Adelaide, Ah Chee played just 27 games throughout his five-year career at Alberton Oval.
In hopes of finding more playing opportunities, the utility then requested a trade to the West Coast Eagles in 2017, where he played a further 30 AFL games.
West Coast announced in September that Ah Chee was one of three Eagles not being offered a contract extension for next season.
Ah Chee took to twitter to thank both the Eagles and Power for their time with him, but to also remind fans that he is not done with footy just yet.
"Thanks @PAFC and @WestCoastEagles for letting me live out my childhood dream for 10 years, and love to everyone that supported me and understood my journey," Ah Chee said.
"Looking forward to the next thing."
