Famed Australian NFL punter and ex-AFL footballer Arryn Siposs is reportedly eyeing a return to the Australian Rules landscape upon his Australia return.
The 30-year-old last played AFL football in 2014, back when he donned St Kilda colours.
The 28-gamer then tried his hand overseas, first punting for college outfit Auburn University before being drafted into the National Football League.
Siposs, who was most well-known for his successful stint with the Super Bowl-contending Philadelphia Eagles, was recently waived, concluding his time in Pennsylvania.
He also missed out on a potential rebound opportunity with National Football Conference rival Arizona Cardinals; marking the probable end to his American Football tenure.
Now, according to aย News Corpย report authored by Justin Vallejo on Friday, Siposs 'has his sights on' an AFL coaching role upon his likely Australian return.
While his Aussie return is currently unconfirmed, Siposs' wife, Rachel, stated via Instagram the couple was planning their Australian comeback after five years stateside.
Siposs has Australian Rules coaching experience, capping mentoring stints at Brighton Grammar School and Hallam Senior Secondary College before his American venture.
Former Auburn teammate Jacob Quattlebaum, whose role as the team's long snapper meant dishing the ball to Siposs before his booming punts, labelled Siposs as "one of those guys" who saw the game through a different lens.
"Arryn was just one of those guys, he looked at the game in a different way than most other guys did," Quattlebaum said.
"He honestly guided me and really taught me how to be, how to train like a professional would.
"He always had that mindset where the coaches want me to do this thing, but if want I to reach the next level I need to be doing this other thing as well."
Siposs began his NFL career with the Detroit Lions in 2020 before finding his way to Philadelphia.
