Barrass ready to shut down the American Pie

West Coast defender Tom Barrass will attempt to repeat his performance against Collingwood's Mason Cox, from the first round of the finals this year.

Having held Cox to only two marks and no scores in their last match-up, Barrass will be aware of the impact Cox had on Richmond during Collingwood's preliminary final victory.

Cox, at 211cm, offers an interesting challenge to Barrass, who offered his own analysis to afl.com.au.

"He's a big man, he's 6'10 and his arms are two-and-a-half metres long each. When he's got a run and jump at it he's pretty hard to stop, so it will be about that," Barrass said.

Barrass will make his Grand Final debut on Saturday after watching the 2015 game from the sidelines, injured.

However, Barrass surrenders 16cm on Cox, and will surely require the rest of the West Coast defence to assist in contests deep in the forward line.

Barrass will be keen to smother the American giant, and assist in limiting the movement and marking ability of Collingwood once again.
