Scans have come back positive for Adelaide’s Josh Jenkins, clearing the forward of an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Jenkins left the field on a stretcher after hyper-extending his knee attempting to kick the ball out of mid-air in the dying seconds of the Crows’ 33-point win over Richmond on Thursday night.

Per The Age’s Peter Ryan, Jenkins will confer with Crows medical staff on Friday to determine the extent of the injury.

Utility Paul Seedsman, who suffered an almost identical injury in the Crows’ Round 3 loss to Geelong, made a return to football in six weeks.

A similar timeframe would see Jenkins returning in Round 19, in time for an Adelaide finals run as the Crows sit at 8-5 heading into the bye.

The power forward had kicked nine goals in three games after being banished to the SANFL in Round 5 and looked back to his dominant best.
