Melbourne general manager of football, Josh Mahoney said the club is thrilled to secure the youngster's signature.

โ€œWeโ€™ve been pleased with Billyโ€™s continued development this year,โ€ Mahoney told the club's website.

โ€œHeโ€™s the ultimate professional off the field and he prepares himself very well every week.

โ€œWe think heโ€™s building the habits to be a very good long-term player.โ€
