Will Hayes has been handed a two-match suspension for his dangerous tackle on Geelong's Sam Menegola on Saturday night, souring his first offical start for the team.

The tackle, which occurred in the first term of Carlton's 30-point loss, was graded as Careless Conduct, High Impact, High Contact.

Hayes and the Blues have since accepted the two-match ban with an early plea, seeing him miss upcoming matches against the Giants and Crows, with a return potentially coming against Brisbane in Round 21.

Elsewhere at the MCG on Saturday night, Geelong forward Jeremy Cameron was handed a fine for Careless Contact with an Umpire.

The contact, against umpire Stephens, occurred in the fourth quarter and has been graded as a $1500 fine. Cameron can accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.

Young Pie Beau McCreery has also been hit with a financial sanction after being charged with Striking. The first term incident involving Crow Patrick Parnell was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact, Body Contact. The 21-year-old can accept a $2000 fine with an early plea.

Richmond's Toby Nankervis has had his match day report thrown out. The 27-year-old had been reported for rough conduct against North Melbourne's Flynn Perez, with the match review deeming that the incident did not "constitute a reportable offence".

The match review findings from Sunday's action will be released on Monday evening.
