Carlton will hand Mid-Season Draft recruit Sam Durdin his club debut just two weeks after joining the Blues.
Durdin linked up with the Princes Park club earlier this month as the Blues' first selection in the Mid-Season Draft, also joining former Bulldog Will Hayes in venturing to Carlton.
The 26-year-old impressed in his time with SANFL side Glenelg since being delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2020 season, where he played 21 matches across six seasons at Arden Street.
The key defender has been handed his Carlton debut after an injury crisis at the club, with Caleb Marchbank the latest backman to suffer a setback.
Marchbank made his return to the Blues' senior side last week against Essendon before suffering a meniscus tear that hs ruled him out of action for up to eight weeks.
Incumbent duo Jacob Weitering and Mitch McGovern are also sidelined after suffering shoulder and hamstring setbacks respectively.
Oscar McDonald has also battled injury this year, having been ruled out for the remainder of the year with a back complaint.
Blues senior coach Michael Voss confirmed Durdin's inclusion on Wednesday, with the ex-Roo set to face Richmond in Round 14.
Carlton and Richmond will clash at 7:20pm (AEST) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
