Luckless Carlton forward Charlie Curnow is set to make his AFL return this weekend.
As reported by AFL.com's Riley Beveridge, Blues coach David Teague revealed the 24-year-old will likely feature in his first match since June 2019, in what will end a lengthy wait for the gun forward and Blues fans.
Recurring knee injuries have limited Curnow to just 58 games since being drafted in 2015, with the Carlton spearhead showing great promise across his early career, booting 77 goals.
Curnow's return will be a major boost for the Blues, who have taken a conservative approach in his recovery this season.
The club will still require their promising forward to pass a training session this week before having the chance to line up against St Kilda on Friday night at Marvel Stadium.
With an AFL return imminent, Carlton will be excited by the prospect of pairing Curnow with Coleman Medal leader Harry McKay in what is an enticing attack for the years to come.
McKay remains an outside chance to play in this weekend's must-win clash for the Blues as he continues to battle a toe injury.
