A handful of Blues will be forced to wait on new deals as Carlton look to do something in the AFL Trade Period.
Jed Lamb, Matt Wright, Sam Kerridge and Nick Graham are uncontracted for next season and are yet to be offered a new deal.
AFL.com.au believe depending on the clubs' incoming trade targets will decide if these players will be offered new contracts or not.
Lamb and Wright have been consistently getting games for the Blues while Kerridge and Graham have been in and out of the team as they only managed to play 10 games each this season.
Some uncontracted players have been told they will get picked up on the rookie list.
Sam Rowe is also uncontracted, but it is believed that Carlton will be looking to give him a new deal as they try to find some stability in the club.
Rowe has played 99 career games as the 31-year-old has been a consistent perform for the Blues.
Veteran Kade Simpson has resigned for his 17th season and Dale Thomas is set to resign for 2019.
Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern is the club's main trade target, with the Blues most likely to give away their first round pick in order to grab the services of the forward.
GWS duo Dylan Shiel and Will Setterfield have also been rumored to be at Ikon Park next year.
The Blues go into the 2018 draft with picks 1,24,25,65 and 73.
