Carlton have announced quartet Oscar McDonald, Luke Parks, Matt Owies and Jordan Biyd have signed new deals to remain at Ikon Park for the 2022 season.
Owies will extend his stay in the navy blue for a fourth season and will look to add to his 14 career games with Carlton.
The 24-year-old had a strong impact at AFL level this season, booting 15 goals from his 13 appearances.
McDonald joined Carlton ahead of this season via the Pre-Season Supplementary Selection Period after being delisted by Melbourne.
The versatile swingman played three matches for the Blues in 2021, tallying a career total of 84 matches since making his AFL debut in 2015.
Parks made his senior debut this season, with his maiden match coming against Fremantle in Round 3.
The promising defender added a further five matches to his campaign, offering plenty of attack from defence for the Blues.
Boyd joined Carlton as a Rookie via the Mid-Season Draft and was unable to break into the Blues' AFL side.
However, his efforts in a short span at Princes Park were enough to see him rewarded with a new deal.
Speaking on the announcement, Blues list manager Nick Austin stated his excitement to have the quartet ink new deals for 2022.
“A quality you want in every player is a desire to compete and all four players have that in spades – they’ve put a lot of hard work into their careers to date and no doubt they’ll be looking to turn that hard work into senior football next season,” Austin said.
“Matt has been tireless in working on his development to ensure he earned his place among our 22 throughout the year.
“We were pleased with how he fitted into our forward line, creating 32 shots on goal in just 13 games – that gives him a great platform to launch into next season.
“Oscar’s flexibility to play across multiple positions makes him an exciting prospect for us, so we’re looking forward to seeing him back to full fitness and pushing for senior opportunities next season.
“Luke enjoyed exciting patches of footy this year, both at VFL and AFL level. He has come a long way in his development since arriving at the Club and the exciting thing is that he still has a lot of growth in his game and is extremely committed to reaching his full potential.
“We welcomed Jordan to the Blues midway through the year on the back of his impressive VFL form. He has settled in seamlessly since and has continued to demonstrate his sheer determination to succeed within an elite environment."
