Carlton have announced that veteran Eddie Betts has signed a new one-year deal with the club for the 2021 season.
Betts will look to help the Blues move into the top eight next season whilst adding to the 331 games and 613 goals he has amassed across his career.
Speaking on Betts' leadership, Carlton list manager Nick Austin said the small forward offered unparalleled value to the club.
“Eddie has been a terrific player for our Club and we look forward to him continuing next season," Austin said.
"As a lively small forward, we all know what he brings to our side and what he is capable of inside 50, which is only going to benefit our football club in 2021. Â
“It cannot be understated how valuable Eddie’s leadership is for our forward group, not just on game day but the work he is doing and the experience he is sharing in every review, in every meeting.” Â
Â
Betts said he can't wait to play in front of the Blues faithful in 2021.
“I’ve loved every minute of being back home at the Club this year but it hasn’t felt the same without all our members and supporters, I can’t wait to play in front of them and play for them again next season,” Betts said. Â
“My number one priority next year will be playing good football and doing everything I possibly can to help this club win games and earn the success we have been working towards."
Betts will also work alongside the club's community program to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, staff, and Indigenous Australians.
