Adam Saad is no guarantee to re-sign at Essendon, according to AFL Mediaย reporter Callum Twomey.

Twomey reports rival clubs believes itโ€™s possible to pry the defender away from Tullamarine.

Saad is right in All-Australian contention, averaging a career-high 18.8 disposals and having a hand in 1.9 scores per game, ranking second among defenders behind Geelong's Mark Blicavs.

The gun defender is out of contract at seasonโ€™s end.

โ€œEarlier in the year, he had started and opened talks for a new deal. It was upwards of four years before the COVID-19 contract freeze hit the competition. Things have stalled since then,โ€ Twomey said onย AFL Media.ย

โ€œI know that other clubs are looking at this situation very, very closely now and think thereโ€™s a chance that they can get Saad out of the Bombers.

โ€œEvery club in Victoria would want him, so thereโ€™s a big watch on Adam Saad.โ€
