Essendon and Brisbane have put two of their injured stars on the long-term injury list, whilst the Pies are tossing up whether to do the same as teams get set for Wednesday's Mid-Season Draft.
Bombers defender Michael Hurley, who fell victim to a shock hip infection over the off-season, was lowered onto the inactive list yesterday as the club geared up for tomorrow night.
With Hurley now off the active list, this frees up another pick for the Bombers who now have a pair of selections in their pocket to take into the draft, per AFL.com.
Meanwhile in the Sunshine state, the Lions have elected to put budding superstar Cam Rayner on their long-term injury list, allowing for them to gain a spot in their squad as they look to dabble in proceedings on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old exciting forward picked up a horrible ACL injury in the club's pre-season hit-out against the Suns in March, with Chris Fagan all but putting a line through his season with this move.
Hawthorn are also understood to have moved James Sicily to the long-term injury list, with the star defender also suffering from an ACL.
Sicily suffered the knee injury in August last year, with the Hawks now opening up a second open list spot.
The upside for the injured trio is that if they find fitness before season's end and a player on the active list suffers a long-term injury, then they will be able to be elevated back to the main list.
Finally, the Pies are set to decide whether or not to lower young gun Tyler Brown to their inactive list following a shoulder injury which may require reconstructive surgery.

According to The Age's Michael Gleeson, if Brown does need surgery then they will elect to put him on the long-term injury list and free up a third pick for tomorrow night's draft.
Collingwood are reportedly interested in bringing in troubled ex-Tiger Tyson Stengle to bolster their undermanned attack, and also have their eyes on South Australian young forward, Ash Johnson.
