The Bombers are reportedly pursuing another one of coach Brad Scott's former North Melbourne players.
After recently examining the prospect of luring ex-disciple Tarryn Thomas to Essendon, the Bombers are apparently now targeting veteran ruckman Todd Goldstein.
The Dons are understood to be leaving 'no stone unturned' as it pertains to improving their list, now moving on to another of Scott's ex-players.
While Thomas is currently contracted at Arden Street through next season and appears likely to honour his deal, 'Goldy' can exercise his rights as an unrestricted free agent this year and is able to walk to another club if he so chooses.

After a Wednesdayย News Corp report claimed the 35-year-old was pondering his 2024 options amid rival interest, it appears he has at least one keen suitor.
According toย Seven's Tom Browne on Wednesday evening, Scott has 'sounded out' his dependable former ruckman in recent times.
"Brad Scott has sounded out Todd Goldstein, the North Melbourne veteran, in recent weeks about joining the Bombers," declared Browne on Wednesday night.

"Now, of course, Scott used to coach Goldstein (at North Melbourne), the idea here [is that] it would give Essendon some depth, the Bombers have two ruckmen, Scott usually plays two ruckmen, but the idea is that Goldstein gives them that additional depth next season if they suffer injuries in their ruck stocks.
"Scott sounding him out about a contract in recent weeks, of course Essendon will leave no stone, sources tell me, unturned, to improve their list."
