Adelaide has confirmed star midfielder Rory Sloane will miss tomorrow night's qualifying final against Greater Western Sydney.
Sloane underwent surgery last Tuesday to remove his appendix and was unable to prove his fitness in time for the clash.
It is the first match Sloane will miss for the season. He has averaged 24.5 disposals, eight tackles and three marks per game this year.
“Naturally players want to play so we gave Sloaney every opportunity to get up including training this morning,” Adelaide's head of football Brett Burton said.
“Ultimately it’s a medical decision and the advice was that it was too short a turnaround between the surgery and tomorrow night’s game.”
The club expects Sloane to be fit for the its second final, whether it be next week or a preliminary final in a fortnight.
