All-Australian 40-man squad announced

The AFL have announced the 40-man squad for the 2017 All-Australian team.

Adelaide headline the squad, and have the potential to have eight players in the final 22, with captain Taylor Walker headlining a strong list of names.

GWS are next in line with four players, as midfielders Josh Kelly, Tom Scully and Dylan Shiel and forward Toby Greene have all made the cut.

Essendon, Port Adelaide, West Coast and Melbourne all had three nominees, with three of the top six clubs only having two entrants.

Richmond (Dustin Martin, Alex Rance), Sydney (Lance Franklin, Josh Kennedy) and Geelong (Patrick Dangerfield, Joel Selwood) have just six players between them, despite being three of the strongest sides heading into September.
