Bulldogs forward Josh Bruce has suffered a season-ending ACL injury, the club has confirmed.
Bruce sustained the knee injury in the final moments of Sunday's match against the Bombers when attempting a tackle on Essendon defender Marty Gleeson.
The 29-year-old will now require a reconstruction on his left knee.
βJosh had scans this morning which have confirmed an ACL injury to his left knee,β Bulldogs' head of sports medicine Chris Bell said, per the club's website.Β
βWeβre devastated for him and will do everything we can to support him through this period.
βWe will work through a plan with Josh for surgery over the next couple of days.β
The veteran forward is now likely to miss the next 12 months of action.
Bruce has played 37 games for the Bulldogs since arriving from St Kilda ahead of the 20202 season, booting 62 goals in the blue, red and white.
