Greater Western Sydney's Devon Smith has secured his move to Essendon, signing a four-year deal.
In order to land the 24-year-old, the Bombers have agreed to part ways with their prized No.11 draft pick in this year's National Draft.
Under the deal, Essendon will send pick 11 to GWS, as well as a future (2018) third round selection, while the Giants will send Smith, pick No.24 and a future (2018) second round selection to the Dons.
Smith officially nominated Essendon as his preferred destination last week after 100 goals in 109 games for the Giants.
He was a member of the club’s inaugural squad in 2012, after being recruited with pick No.14 in the 2011 National Draft.
The small forward managed 16 games this season, kicking 15 goals, but did not feature in the Giants’ finals campaign.
The Bombers beat Collingwood, St Kilda and initial favourites, Carlton to Smith's signature.
