Collingwood premiership player Dane Swan is set to announce his retirement from AFL football on Tuesday.
Fox Footy's Jake Niall has reported that the 258-game veteran will officially hang up the boots at a press conference tomorrow, after a serious foot injury at the beginning of this season ultimately ended his career.
Swan will leave the Magpies as one of the club's greats.
He is a five-time All-Australian, three time Collingwood best and fairest winner, AFL Coaches Association player of the year winner and a Brownlow Medalist.
Swan suffered a Lisfranc injury in the opening minutes of the match against Sydney in Round 1, ending his 2016 season.
He held out hope for the majority of the year of returning to football next season, but the injury has ultimately forced him into retirement.
