McVeigh sustained a calf injury in Sydney's six goalย win over Adelaide in the semi-final, and subsequently missedย last Friday night's 37-point win.
The 31-year-old was originally listed as a 50-50 chance to play in Saturday's match, although with defender Aliir Aliir now missing with a knee injury, McVeigh will take Aliir's spot in the line-up.
Rising Star Callum Mills, who missed also the preliminary final, trained on Wednesday, which may cause another selection headache for the Sydney match committee.
