Fremantle's Nat Fyfe will not win a second Brownlow Medal in 2018, after the Dockers failed to overturn his one-match ban for striking Collingwood's Levi Greenwood on Sunday afternoon.
The Dockers tried to argue the contact was careless rather than intentional, although the Tribunal wouldn't hear it, and confirmed Fyfe would miss Sunday's clash with Adelaide at Optus Stadium.
Fyfe was a favourite for the Brownlow before the Match Review Panel's finidings were released on Monday.
The Dockers have been penalised $10,000 as a result of losing their appeal.
