Brisbane youngsters Reece Torrent and Zane Zakostelsky have each penned one-year extensions to remain at the club until the end of 2026.
Both players, Zakostelsky (pick 51) and Torrent (pick 64), were selected by the Lions in the 2023 AFL draft and have since shown great promise at VFL level.
Danny Daly, Lions General Manager of Football, said that the pair have been impressive during their time at the club.
"Both Zane and Reece have shown real potential since joining our AFL program and receiving another contract is reward for their hard work," he said.
"Their development throughout the VFL last season was noticeable and it is a credit to their work ethic and professionalism.
"We're excited to have another two of our younger crew commit to the Club."
Zakostelsky, a Western Australian product and former basketball player, joined the club and has since adapted to the AFL system in Brisbane. He made his VFL debut in Round 6 and has played 16 games including three finals.
He has slotted nicely into the team's defence and has said that he only wants to get better.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity and very excited as to what is to come in the near future," he said
"I feel I have made a lot of progress with my footy since being drafted, so I am extremely grateful for the extension.
"A massive thanks to all the coaches and Danny (Daly) for this opportunity, it's the best job in the world so super keen to be re-signing."
Torrent, a fellow West Australian, showcased what he is capable of throughout the 2024 VFL season as a versatile midfielder.
He says he has enjoyed his time with the Lions and is excited about what the future holds.
"I have loved every minute of my time at the club so far," he said.
"It's a pretty special environment to be a part of and the culture here is unreal.
"I am very keen to keep getting to work and learning off all the boys."
Brisbane's first selection in the 2023 draft came at 31 where they selected Logan Morris. Lions fans will be hoping the pair will find similar success to the big man who has been impressive at AFL level so far.
The Queensland club have 17 players who are yet to sign beyond 2025, headed by free agent Brandon Starcevich as well as priority signings Morris, Deven Robertson and Callum Ah Chee.
Veterans Dayne Zorko, Darcy Gardiner, Lincoln McCarthy and Ryan Lester will be worked through over the course of the season.
