Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson is exploring his options this trade period after falling out of favour at the Lions.

Robertson played just two games in 2024, with form and injury concerns limiting his time at the top level as the Lions went on to claim the premiership.

The 23-year-old was linked to a trade to West Coast last year after a 16-game season but turned his back on a return to his home state in favour of re-signing with Brisbane on a two-year deal.

12 months on from that decision, Robertson is assessing the open market as the Lions also prepare to add draftees Levi Ashcroft and Sam Marshall to their engine room.

Robertson has not informed Brisbane of a desired landing spot, however the Eagles could rekindle their interest in the Perth product.

"Dev has had some really unfortunate timing with his injuries this year," Lions list manager Dom Ambrogio said.

"He had a wrist injury in the off-season and then a shoulder at a really inconvenient time when he had some opportunity open up.

"Clearly he would like some more opportunity. We've had a really open discussion with him, and he's going to explore his options. He hasn't told us he wants to go anywhere, but he wants to explore his options."

West Coast hold selections 3, 26 and 62 for this year's draft but will add to that hand with the imminent departure of duo Jack Darling and Tom Barrass to North Melbourne and Hawthorn respectively.

The Eagles are hoping to acquire Richmond utility Liam Baker, while Tiger Jack Graham could join the club as a free agent at no trade cost.
