Brisbane has thrown their support around former premiership player Aaron Shattock as he fights for his life on the Gold Coast.
Shattock, father of three, was crushed by an excavator when it rolled, resulting in emergency surgery on Sunday for his severe chest injuries.
The 44-year-old builder played at the Lions for five seasons, notching up 57 games and claiming the 2002 premiership.
Shattock, husband to Claire and father to Mitch, Cleo and Sadie, was drafted from SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens by the Lions with pick #45 in the 1998 AFL Draft.

Following the 2004 season, Shattock moved to Port Adelaide and played 11 times before he was delisted two years later.
Former teammate and Carlton coach Michael Voss shared a touching tribute, describing Shattock "a ripping good fella" and "an outstanding teammate" according to the Lions website.
"I can't believe it โฆ it's terrible at any time but just before Christmas is even worse. Our prayers are with him and his family."
Shattock's local football club, Labrador confirmed that he is in an induced coma at Gold Coast University Hospital.
"On behalf of the Labrador Australian Football Club, we send our thoughts, love and prayers to the Shattock family during this challenging time," the club said on Sunday night.
"We can confirm that Aaron was involved in an excavator accident on his property on Sunday afternoon. He is currently in an induced coma at Gold Coast University Hospital, where he will remain under observation in the coming days.
