Brisbane will have declared a trio of players are available for selection following recent injury bouts, while a young forward will be sidelined due to a concussion concern sustained in the VFL over the weekend.
As expected, lockdown defender Brandon Starcevich will be fit to face Carlton on Saturday after dealing with hamstring awareness during Round 24.
The Lions backman missed his side's final game of the home and away season, with the subsequent pre-finals bye aiding his recovery process in time for Brisbane's first final.
Key defender Jack Payne (foot) and utility Bruce Reville (leg) missed the final weeks of the Lions' campaign in the lead-up to September before making successful returns over the weekend with the Lions' VFL side.
All three players have been deemed available to play in this week's elimination final against Carlton, giving coach Chris Fagan much to consider ahead of Thursday's selection.
Starcevich is likely to come straight back into the team, likely in place of Noah Answerth - who played his first game since Round 14 over a week ago in Starcevich's absence.
Payne could replace Darragh Joyce, who has held down a tall defensive role since Payne was sidelined with his injury ahead of Round 17.
However, speaking on Thursday before main training, Fagan said that the selection committee has plenty to ponder, admitting "it's not that easy" to replace one key defender with the other.
"We just need to have a look at him at training today," Fagan said.
"Tuesday was modified, mainly precautionary, after his first game in a while, naturally, he was a bit sorer than normal.
"We'll see how he trains and make a decision this afternoon.
"It's not that easy. I think Darragh Joyce has performed really well, but it's nice to know that Jack's available."
Meanwhile, young Lion James Tunstill will be unavailable for selection after entering concussion protocols over the weekend.
A high knock during Brisbane's VFL final loss to Footscray has forced the 21-year-old to the sidelines for a minimum of 12 days, ruling him out of the upcoming Carlton clash and the club's VFL semi-final against Williamstown.
Brisbane will name their squad for their elimination final against the Blues on Thursday at 6:20 pm (AEST), with their final side to be confirmed an hour out from the 7:30 pm bounce.
