Brisbane will be without midfielder Josh Dunkley for a second straight week due to a calf injury, while onballer Jarrod Berry is set to make his return from a hamstring issue.

Dunkley was ruled out of last week's encounter with West Coast due to a corked calf sustained the week prior, with the ailment to keep the former Bulldog out of action for the club's trip to Victoria to face Melbourne on Friday.

The stat midfielder is expected to be fit in time for Brisbane come Round 19 along with Rhys Mathieson (hamstring) and Carter Michael (quad).

Berry will face the Demons pending a final fitness test in the coming days, while Callum Ah Chee (concussion) and fringe forward Tom Fullarton (hamstring) will also be available for the highly-anticipated clash.

A shoulder injury will keep dashing defender James Madden out of action for the coming rounds, with the club weighing up a decision on the Irishman's recovery following his setback in last Saturday's win over West Coast.

Madden is currently listed as "TBC" for a return, while fellow defender Noah Answerth requires another month in rehabilitation following a facial fracture.

Brisbane will face Melbourne at the MCG on Friday night at 7:50pm (AEST).
