Brisbane pair Tom Rockliff and Dayne Beams will both undergo shoulder surgery, after playing through injuries for the majority of the season.
Lions physio Chris Frazer revealed on Tuesday Rockliff dislocated his shoulder in round eight against Hawthorn, but played out the season, while Beams injured the top of his shoulder earlier in the year.
“They were in a bit of pain. They made a good recovery and they were playing well with their injuries. That’s part of being an AFL footballer,” Frazer said.
However, the club is confident both players will be fit in time to begin pre-season training in November.
Beams played 19 games this season, averaging 27.1 disposals and booting 20 goals, while Rockliff played 20 games and averaged 24 disposals and kicked 16 goals.
Meanwhile, youngster Sam Skinner will also go under the knife, after rupturing his ACL while playing in the NEAFL earlier this month.

“Sam’s obviously very familiar with the way the rehab program is here and the expectations there,” Frazer said.
“He’ll be fantastic once he returns. It’s massively disappointing that he hurt his ACL.
"But the boys got around him and his spirits are high. There’s no reason why he won’t make a full recovery.”
