The incident is likely to gain the attention of the MRO.

Brisbane veteran Dayne Zorko could be in hot water for a potential eye gouge on Adelaide's Luke Pedlar.

During the opening term of Sunday's clash between the Crows and Lions, Zorko tackled Pedlar soon after the young Adelaide forward gained possession of the ball, with the former Brisbane captain penalised for a high tackle.

After both players fell to the ground as a result of the contest, footage shows Zorko's right hand making contact with Pedlar's face near his right eye.

The incident is likely to gain the attention of the AFL's Match Review Officer, who could charge Zorko for making 'unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the eye region' of Pedlar.

Last year's finals series saw Zorko's teammate Jarrod Berry handed a one-game suspension for a similar offence on Melbourne's Clayton Oliver, however Berry was cleared to play the following week after successfully overturning the charge at the AFL Tribunal.

Berry's initial charge was graded as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a one-game suspension.

If Zorko is to face a similar fate from the MRO's findings from Sunday's action, the Lions veteran could be required to accept a one-week ban and miss his side's Round 13 clash against Hawthorn, given Brisbane are scheduled for a bye next week.

It would mean Zorko won't return until mid-June when the Lions play Sydney in Round 14.
