The halfway point of the season has just passed. There are a number of players who have been performing well, so let's take a look at who may be up the top of the Brownlow Medal leaderboard so far.

PATRICK DANGERFIELD

Dangerfield started off very strongly, then carried an injury, before returning to some blistering form of late. He is likely to have at least five games of three votes, which is already remarkable. It seemed as though there was nothing Dangerfield could improve on, however, he has shown he can kick bags of three and four goals, while also gathering 30+ disposals. His performance late in fourth quarters will also help in his count.

Dangerfield's three vote games are likely to come in rounds two, three, nine, 10 and 11.

Predicted total after Round 12:ย 18 votes

DUSTIN MARTIN

It was a flying start to the season for Dustin Martin and no doubt through most of the Tigers' wins, he will feature in the Brownlow count. He should be the top vote-getter in around five of his games so far. His tenacity on the ball, as well as third and fourth efforts will no doubt impress the umpires.

Martin should earn maximum votes in rounds one, three, five, 10, and 11. Although, six goals to Jack Riewoldt in their round five clash against Melbourne may rob him of a vote.

Predicted total after Round 12:ย 18 votesย

RORY SLOANE

Despite some very quiet games, Rory Sloane should poll very well and be in the top tier of the Brownlow count after 12 rounds. He has most likely had four best-on-ground performances to start the year. Unlike Dangerfield, the Crow doesn't have a teammate who could easily take votes away from him in the midfield. His ability to kick goals will also stick in the umpires' minds.

Sloane is likely to have received three votes against Hawthorn in round two, against the Power in round three and the Tigers in round six.

Predicted total after Round 12:ย 16 votes

JOSH KELLY

Kelly is one who may potentially fly under the radar in this count. GWS are winning games, which means they are getting votes and Kelly looks to be raking them in early. At this stage he looks to have around three or four best-on-ground performances. Those, coupled with some other strong efforts have him at an estimated 16 votes so far. If you're looking for some value for money, Kelly could be your guy.

His performances against the Gold Coast Suns, North Melbourne, Collingwood, and Essendon could all grant him three votes.

Predicted total after Round 11:ย 16 votes

ROUGHIE - JOE DANIHER

Joe Daniher will not win the Brownlow. However, despite some inconsistency, he has played some brilliant football this season and had some clear stand out games. Two best-on ground performances along with a few other big bags of goals has him at around nine or so votes. Some other big games further down the track could have him poised to finish higher than many might think. He has the potential to surprise some people and place inside the top ten if his current form continues.
