Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has confirmed that Jordan De Goey and Jamie Elliott will return to the VFL this weekend.
“Jordan De Goey and Jamie Elliott will play VFL this week. They will start to push back," Buckley told SEN's Whateley on Tuesday.
“They’ve actually had a decent block of training, so whether it is one or two weeks down there, we will assess based on what we see."
The Magpies have been unlucky to start the season with many players having early individual set-backs, whether it be from injury, suspension or infamous off-field incidents.
Buckley mentioned that big man Mason Cox and Ben Reid are available for selection but is still waiting on a few more playmakers to re-enter the side.
“We will have Mason Cox and Ben Reid available this weekend, and they will definitely provide a little bit of structure that we missed last week," he said.
“Daniel Wells is still a couple away, Darcy Moore will be three-to-four weeks depending on how he comes up clinically."
Buckley is looking forward to seeing his team's list replenish in the next couple of weeks, with Alex Fasolo, Jarryd Blair and Chris Mayne also being considered for the senior side.
“Faz [Alex Fasolo] has played six quarters of really strong footy,” he said on SEN Whateley.
“'Faz' will have his opportunities no doubt. He and Jarryd Blair were pulled from the VFL game at halftime on Saturday.
“Chris Mayne will be fit ... we have a few guys available for selection who weren’t available last weekend. We will find the best fit for this week.”
