Lance 'Buddy' Franklin is set to become just the sixth man in AFL/VFL history to kick 1000 career goals and etch his name amongst the greats of the game.
One of the best players to grace the AFL, Franklin is just four goals away from becoming the first man in over 20 years to reach the incredible milestone.
Franklin's impact on the game will most likely never be seen again, as he is also the most recent player to kick 100 goals in an AFL season.
Spanning over 17 years, we look back at the mercurial forward's top 10 goals from his decorated career with Hawthorn and Sydney.
While Franklin has kicked many unbelievable goals throughout his career, this list considers the impact of the goals on top of the freakish talent he possesses.
8. Buddy turns out the Power with back-to-back stunners (Round 13, 2014)
The Swans faced a tough challenge in Round 13, 2014, facing top-of-the-ladder Port Adelaide at the SCG.
The Swans found themselves one point up with 10 minutes remaining when Franklin marked uncontested, roughly 70 metres out from goal. Buddy quickly played on and slotted the long bomb through the goals, extending the Swans lead to seven points.
A mere two minutes later, Franklin found himself producing the miraculous yet again. He gathered the ball on the right half-forward flank, split the gap between two Power defenders before kicking another goal from the 50-metre line.
(From 0:50)
The Swans ended the game as victors by four points as Franklin's ridiculous two-minute frenzy will be remembered for a very long time in the AFL.
