The Western Bulldogs have extended their partnership with Visit Victoria and the City of Ballarat for another three seasons, taking their foothold at Mars Stadium beyond a decade.

Since 2017 - when the relationship was founded - the Bulldogs have ventured to Ballarat to host an AFL match, playing at least two games each year, barring the opening year.

And with the new contract, red, white and blue fans will get the chance to see them at Mars Stadium until 2027.

The Bulldogs army will descend on Ballarat on Saturday, May 3 next year when the club faces Port Adelaide in a Round 8 AFL clash, and will return again in mid-July to face the Adelaide Crows in Round 18.

The partnership will also include one AFLW game.

"I love it because it has that country feel," Bulldogs defender James O'Donnell said.

"It feels like you're playing local footy again, and we enjoy coming down here and taking on teams that don't like to come down. It's a bit of extra travel time and not playing under the roof at Marvel.

"We make it a fortress".

Mars Stadium has quickly turned into a happy hunting ground for the Bulldogs, who initially started their time in the country town in poor form.

In the eight years since hosting a game at Mars Stadium, Luke Beveridge's men have won nine of 13 clashes, including their past two encounters in 2024.

Adelaide and Gold Coast have ventured to Ballarat the most of any club - other than the Bulldogs - lining up on four occasions.

Modern-day rival GWS follows closely behind with three encounters, while Port Adelaide and Brisbane have attended the venue twice.

The Bulldogs head to Ballarat every pre-season as part of their summer training whilst also undertaking community work.

Next year will mark the 100-year anniversary of the club's entry into the VFL/AFL.

They will celebrate their milestone with a blockbuster clash against Collingwood at the MCG in Round 2.
