Western Bulldogs AFLW coach Nathan Burke is reportedly set to be issued with a 'please explain' by the AFL following alleged negative behaviour towards umpires during Sunday's elimination final against the Magpies.

The Bulldogs went down by five points to Collingwood yesterday in a thrilling affair, with Collingwood forward Eliza James booting four goals to propel her side to a semi-final berth.

However, the day was overshadowed by Burke making a pointing gesture and staring towards the group of umpires after the match, according to womens.afl.

It is reported that no words were exchanged.

The evidently frustrated Burke also labelled his players' work rate and pressure as 'garbage' throughout the five-point loss.

This is Burke's third season in charge of the Western Bulldogs AFLW team, leading the Dogs to finals in the last two seasons.

Their seasons ended with the defeat to Collingwood, who now progress to face Adelaide at Unley Oval on Saturday afternoon in a semi-final.
