The Western Bulldogs have confirmed veteran defender Dale Morris will be sidelined for around two months with a fractured leg, however, the injury will not require surgery.

Morris injured his leg in the final minutes of his side's 14-point win over Collingwood on Friday night.

Despite not needing an operation, the club will take a cautious approach with the 34-year-old.

"He will be managed conservatively, and at the moment we are thinking he will miss about eight weeks of football,” Head Medical Services Manager Chris Bell said.

Meanwhile, forward Tory Dickson looks set to miss at least a month of football after developing an abdominal injury during Footscray's VFL practice match against Collingwood on the weekend.

"Tory developed some abdominal pain after the game on the weekend. We will manage this over the next three or four weeks, and reassess his return to play after this date," Bell said.
