West Coast has swooped on the Bulldogs' former Head of Development and Training Jamie Maddocks, luring him across the nullaboor.
Maddocks joins a revamped West Coast coaching group under new Senior Coach Andrew McQualter and will work alongside Jacob Brennan (Development Coach โ Forwards) and returning club great Shannon Hurn (Development Coach โ Game Fundamentals).
The group will be headed by 2006 premiership coach John Worsfold, who was brought back to the club after an 11-year absence.
Maddock led the Dogs' development for the past five seasons, which followed multiple campaigns as the clubs' opposition analyst since 2015.
He previously worked in the underage talent pathways programs at Vic Metro, Oakleigh Chargers and Dandenong Stingrays.
"I am profoundly grateful for the opportunities afforded to me by Luke Beveridge and the Western Bulldogs. Departing from this organisation has been a difficult decision," Maddocks said.
"I have had the time of my life in the 9-year journey at this club. I have been shaped by the coaches who have come and gone and by those who remain. I cannot thank them enough."
Looking at his new place of employment, Maddocks can't wait to get started at the Eagles, which is brimming with young talent.
โI have a lot of respect for the club's history and its culture,โ Maddocks said.
โObviously, there are new staff coming, new ideas, new scenery, a new adventure and the way the club is shaping up, it's really exciting.
โI have a lot of enthusiasm to get over there and get to work with the club's young, emerging players.โ
โJamie has a passion for helping players be the best they can be,โ General Manager Football Gavin Bell said.
โHe has a proven track record of developing players to achieve their potential and is another experienced coach we can add to our group.
โWe look forward to welcoming him and his family to the club next month as we head into an important pre-season training phase.โ
The Eagles also landed Liam Baker and Matt Owies, whilst Jack Graham joined the club as a free agent last week.
West Coast also secured Pick 12 in the trade and will use 26 and 73 at the draft.
