Western Bulldogs star key forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is almost certain to not play in the Indigenous All-Stars pre-season match in February as he deals with a complex personal issue that is keeping him away from his club's pre-season training.

It was reported that Ugle-Hagan was likely to not be selected for the opening weeks of the 2025 season due to his time away from the club, with the 22-year-old missing key training dates this pre-season.

The Bulldogs then released a club statement revealing the former Pick 1 was under "flexible training agreements" while he dealt with his personal matters.

Journalist Mitch Cleary has stated on Triple M that Ugle-Hagan will not play in the Indigenous All-Stars match against Fremantle next month, despite the Bulldog being a marquee profile to promote the game.

"He won't be picked in the Indigenous All-Stars game which is to be played in mid-February," Cleary said.

"Normally you would've thought a player of Jamarra's quality would've been one of the key headline acts in that game.

"He's got a lot of catching up to do, let's hope that he can get himself right before footy becomes a focus because we know what his best is - a superstar of the comp."

Selected Indigenous All-Star Liam Ryan also found himself in the headlines after footage leaked of him participating in a street fight just the night before he unveiled the Indigenous All-Stars guernsey at a press release.

West Coast and the AFL Integrity Unit have since begun investigating, although no comment has been made on whether Ryan will face suspension from the match as a consequence.

Ugle-Hagan is entering 2025 after a career-best season that saw him take out the Bulldogs leading goalkicker award with 43 goals.

Just last year he signed a two-year extension at the Bulldogs until the end of 2026 despite reported lucrative offers of 11 or 12 years by rival teams.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play the Kangaroos, Magpies, Blues and Dockers in their first month of action.

Whether Ugle-Hagan suits up in any of those clashes remains up in the air for now.
