Contracted Bulldogs Lachie Hunter is reportedly weighing up his future this off-season despite being tied to the Kennel until the end of the 2024 season.
Hunter has endured a difficult season at the Bulldogs, having found himself on the outer of Luke Beveridge's preferred lineup throughout the year, while also stepping away from the game for a portion of the season due to personal reasons.
A father-son draft selection and premiership Bulldog, Hunter played just 10 this year and will enter the 2023 season at 28 years of age.
The Dogs are already resigned to seeing midfielder Josh Dunkley depart the club this off-season in favour of a move to Brisbane, with Hunter's name now the latest to be tied to the exit.
According to SEN's Sam Edmund, Hunter is considering his options and may seek a fresh start to his 173-game career despite a "positive" exit meeting with the club.
While the Bulldogs aren't guaranteed to give Hunter the green light should he request a trade, the Footscray-based side could be open to parting ways with their senior winger.
The Dogs have managed a strong season of re-signings to build their list for the future, but several players, including Hunter, could join Dunkley in departing.
Free agent Jason Johannisen has been linked with the Suns, while the likes of Josh Schache, Mitch Wallis, Zaine Cordy and Stefan Martin are yet to learn their futures.
The Dogs have managed to re-sign 13 players in 2022, including Jack Macrae, Bailey Smith, Tim English, Bailey Dale and Caleb Daniel.
Former Dogs defender Liam Jones is set to join the club through free agency, while they'll await to see if the Dockers will approve wantaway tall Rory Lobb's request of a move to the east coast.
The Bulldogs currently hold picks 11, 29, 37, 65, 83 for the 2022 National Draft.
