AFL Draft prospect turned basketball prodigy Alex Condon has flagged that his football career may not be over despite the teenager's push to play in the NBA.
Standing at 211cm, Condon made a decision in 2021 to head down the basketball pathway instead of pursuing football, where he was seen as a strong chance to fall among the top selections at last year's National Draft.
The Western Australian is instead pursuing a professional basketball career as he ranks among Australia's best young talents on the hardwood, signing with college outfit the University of Florida for 2023.
Condon recently featured in the U20s championships and is currently training with the Australian Boomers.
Multiple reports have revealed AFL clubs are keeping an eye on Condon despite his basketball dream, with Collingwood, West Coast, Geelong and Sydney among the clubs recently watching the 18-year-old at his recent showing in Victoria.
Clubs will be queuing up for Condon should his attention turn back towards football, something the teenager admitted would be a chance.
"(Choosing) basketball is a no-brainer because you can always go back to footy," Condon said, viaย 10 News Perth.ย
"There (aren't) many footy players that can go back to basketball.

"Obviously basketball is an international sport, it takes you around the world."
A product out of WAFL club Claremont, Condon developed into a formidable ruck prospect as a representative for Western Australia's U18s side.
