Carlton have announced the guernsey numbers they will be giving their five new recruits ahead of the 2023 season.

They cheekily announced them one by one via Twitter - and would only announce the next one if a fan commented the correct number they think was given to a player.

First cab off the rank to be announced was Blake Acres, who was traded to Carlton from Fremantle in exchange for a future third-round pick this off-season.

Acres will be wearing the number 13 for Carlton, being dubbed the 'Blacres Dozen'.

Top draft pick Ollie Hollands will be sharing a locker next to Acres, after he was given the number 14.

Medium defender Lachie Cowan will be handed the number 26, which was famously worn by Norm Smith medallist David Rhys-Jones.

The final two draftees - Harry Lemmey and Jaxon Binns - will also be sharing lockers next to each other after receiving the number 31 and number 32 guernseys respectively.

Lemmey takes the number once worn by AFL icon Ron Barrassi, whilst Binns will wear the same number as Carlton Hall of Fame members Bryan Quirk and David Glascott.
