Carlton draftees and recruits have been handed their jumper numbers for their first season with the Blues, while a trio of second-year players have also changed lockers.

Impressive 2023 rookie Ollie Hollands has moved from the No.14 jumper to the No.4, which was made vacant following Lochie O'Brien's delisting this off-season.

A similar move has been made by defender Lachie Cowan, who will replace the departed Paddy Dow and wear the No.2 jumper after pulling on the No.26 on seven occasions during his first season in the AFL.

Uncapped wingman and VFL best and fairest winner Jaxon Binns has moved to the No.25 jumper 12 months on from being handed the No.32 guernsey.

Former Port Adelaide forward Orazio Fantasia will wear Hollands' old number, while trade recruit Elijah Hollands is set to pull on the No.20 in the navy blue.

Draftees Ashton Moir (No.43), Billy Wilson (No.35) and Matt Carroll (No.32) have also been handed their jumper numbers a week on from joining Carlton.

Irish recruit Rob Monahan will wear the No.34 jumper in his first season with the club.

Speaking to the club's website, premiership captain Stephen Kernahan revealed he spoke with Hollands after the young Blue requested the move to the iconic number.

Kernahan, who wore the No.4 on 251 occasions for Carlton, said he looked forward to seeing the Blues wingman be the latest to pull on his old number.

“I was given Ollie's phone number and while I feel bad about old players ringing new ones I gave him a call. I hadn't spoken to him before, but it was nice talking to him. He sounded like a lovely bloke.

“Ollie probably moves a little bit better than I did.”

Carlton players returned to training on Monday ahead of the club's 2024 campaign, which will commence in early March against Brisbane at the Gabba for Opening Round.
